Travel Support in Ukraine

Despite the fact that Ukrainian people are open, friendly and welcoming, it is not so easy to travel in Ukraine. Our travel industry is very young, that's why regular tourist in Ukraine may require travel support from agency to feel himself/herself comfortable. What kind of problems you may face in Ukraine?

1. Language Problem. Firstly, you will face communication problem, as not so many people in Ukraine know English, especially in small cities. Our advice - try to find young people and contact them using the simplest phrases and don't try to find English-speaking people among those who are over 40 years old. Secondly, majority of signs (traffic, street, etc.) in Ukraine are written in Cyrillic alphabet, so you may find difficult reading them. We advice to learn Cyrillic alphabet beforehand, as it is not complicated, but this will help you a lot while staying in Ukraine.

2. Public Transport. Infrastructure in Ukraine is bad-developed, as well as public transport. The main public transport in cities is "marshrutka" - mini-bus with 15-22 seats, where you pay directly to the driver. It is very cheap, but not very comfortable in rush hours. Also, you should be careful with taxi drivers as they ask much more from foreighners. We advice to ask your travel agent about ordering taxi for you, as it could be twice cheaper!

3. Safety. NO WORRIES! Ukraine is safe country, there is no racism or gansters on the streets! But, however, you should be very careful with new friends, with choosing places of rest and way to behave. The best thing for you is to consult with someone local who you know well.
